Order before the last morning

  • Give us a day's notice where you can. Some of this comes from more than one shop and that is easier with a little warning.
  • We deliver to your hotel or villa, so it is packed before you start travelling rather than juggled between check-out and the car.
  • Tell us if it is a gift or if it has to survive a hold bag, because that changes what is worth buying.
  • If you are flying the same day, say so. It changes when we go rather than whether we can.

What is genuinely worth buying here

  • Coffee and cacao are the two that are properly better at source, and both are grown in Nicaragua rather than imported and repackaged.
  • Rum is what the country is known for and is far cheaper here than duty free.
  • Hammocks and pottery are the bulky ones. Getting them delivered rather than carrying them around for a week is the whole point.
  • For anything else, ask. We will tell you honestly if something is imported rather than local, because a lot of what is sold to visitors as Nicaraguan is not.

The limits of this service

  • We buy locally and deliver locally. We do not export, ship internationally or handle customs paperwork of any kind.
  • We are not affiliated with any producer or brand and hold no stock. We buy from shops here the same as you would.
  • Check your own country's import rules for food and agricultural products before you buy. That is genuinely your responsibility and we cannot advise on it.
  • Alcohol goes to over-18s only, and the driver may ask for ID.
